Cindy Kormish knew it would be a struggle when she headed back to
school. A single parent of three school-aged children, she had to
face the challenges of running a household as well as doing her
own schoolwork. But she was committed.

EDUCATION--Hants West Middle School Students Benefit From Changes
Hants West County students in grades 7 to 9 are getting an
improved school. Deputy Premier Ron Russell made the announcement
today, June 7, on behalf of Education Minister Angus MacIsaac in
Brooklyn at a ceremony marking the conversion of Hants West Rural
High School to a middle school in September 2003.

Maria Lamarche knows that a good education will help encourage
success. Ms. Lamarche is one of four adult learners in Digby
County graduating today, June 6, with the Nova Scotia High School
Graduation Diploma for Adults. The graduates have just completed
programs supported by the Nova Scotia School for Adult Learning
at Université Sainte-Anne-Collège de l'Acadie.
