Grade 6 students in Nova Scotia continue to do well in reading and writing. The 2004 elementary literacy assessment shows that 89 per cent of Grade 6 students are meeting expectations in writing, and 87 per cent are doing so in reading.

La majorité des élèves de 6e année des écoles du Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP) réussissent encore bien en écriture et en lecture. L'appréciation du rendement en littératie 2004 donne des résultats positifs : 84 pour cent des élèves répondent aux attentes en lecture et 65 pour cent répondent aux attentes en écriture.

More students graduate from high school in Nova Scotia than almost any other province. A Statistics Canada study released this week shows Nova Scotia's high school graduation rate was considerably higher than the Canadian average and, at 81.1 per cent, was among the top three in Canada.
