EDUCATION--G.R. Saunders Construction Timeline and Budget
Established
Students at G.R. Saunders Elementary School in Stellarton will
soon have a bigger and better facility. The Department of
Education announced today, May 6, it has set a timeline and
budget for the renovation process that will result in
improvements to the school's gymnasium, library, cafeteria and
music facilities.

Centres will have access to new technology and their schools will

EDUCATION--Students Continue to Succeed in Reading and Writing
Grade 6 students in Nova Scotia continue to do well in reading
and writing. The 2004 elementary literacy assessment shows that
89 per cent of Grade 6 students are meeting expectations in
writing, and 87 per cent are doing so in reading.

lecture
La majorité des élèves de 6e année des écoles du Conseil scolaire
acadien provincial (CSAP) réussissent encore bien en écriture et
en lecture. L'appréciation du rendement en littératie 2004 donne
des résultats positifs : 84 pour cent des élèves répondent aux
attentes en lecture et 65 pour cent répondent aux attentes en
écriture.
