SERVICE N.S./MUNICIPAL RELATIONS--Southern Region Property Assessment Notices Sent
Assessment notices are in the mail today, Feb. 7, to Nova Scotia property owners. In the southern region of Nova Scotia, the value of residential property assessments is more than $6.4 billion, an increase of more than 10.2 per cent from 2006. Commercial property assessments totalled almost $1.7 billion, an increase of almost 3.5 per cent.

In the northern region of Nova Scotia, the value of residential property assessments is almost $6.3 billion, an increase of 11 per cent from 2006. Commercial property assessments totalled more than $8 billion an increase of more than 2.6 per cent.

In the eastern region of Nova Scotia, the value of residential property assessments is more than $5.8 billion, an increase of more than 6.8 per cent from 2006. Commercial property assessments totalled almost $2.8 billion, an increase of 4.6 per cent.

In Halifax Regional Municipality, the value of residential property assessments is more than $23 billion, an increase of 10 per cent from 2006. Commercial property assessments totalled almost $8 billion, an increase of almost 8.5 per cent.
