JUSTICE--Omnibus Bill Introduced
Justice Minister Michael Baker today introduced amendments that
will help streamline the province's justice system. The Justice
Administration Amendment (2002) Act includes changes to the way
in which tenants settle disputes with landlords and how various
fines are levied in the province.

Regulation
The provincial government wants to hear from Nova Scotians on how
vehicle sales are regulated in the province. To jump-start
consultation, Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations
released a discussion paper on the topic today, April 10.

Owners of buildings with arched or curved roofs should be aware
of a revision to the 1995 National Building Code of Canada. The
Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes issued the change
to correct a design shortcoming in these roofs, which are often
found on long-span commercial, industrial and recreational
buildings, such as rinks.
