Description

This is to advise that on March 7, 2017, Arlington Heights C&D Limited registered the Asbestos Waste Disposal Facility Project for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of the Project is for the expansion and continued operation of an existing asbestos disposal facility located at 1481 Arlington Road West, Annapolis County. The existing asbestos disposal facility is 2.06 ha and the proposed expansion area would occupy an additional 4.19 ha, for a total area of 6.25 ha. Construction of the proposed expanded asbestos disposal facility is scheduled to begin on May 1, 2017.

Minister's Decision

On July 24, 2017 the Minister of Environment released a decision concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditions.
