Description of Organization:
VON Canada (Victorian Order of Nurses) is Canada’s largest national not-for-profit home and community care organization. We are also a registered charity. Established in 1897 to meet the needs of isolated communities, VON offices quickly spread across the country. Today we have close to 14,000 staff and volunteers working at 52 sites in 1,200 communities. We offer 75 different programs and services and deliver over 2 million visits each year. VON’s values of responsiveness, respect, participation and courage mean we are always innovative. Prenatal education, well baby clinics, school health services, visiting nursing and coordinated home care programs have all had their earliest origins with VON. |
