Description
In general our activity consists of letters, meetings, and media advocacy. We are monitoring government funding of comprehensive care for stroke and heart disease. This period, we will be requesting a meeting with the Health Minister to discuss improving heart failure care in rural Nova Scotia. We will continue to work with the Department of Education on CPR/AED training in schools. We will also correspond through a letter to the Minister of Labour on job protected leave for those with critical illnesses. We are also writing letters to the Department of Health, Education, and Environment on raising the age of tobacco purchase to 21 and to implement and federal advocate for comprehensive policies to reduce the availability and accessibility of purchase for nicotine pouches.   View
In general our activity consists of letters, meetings and media advocacy. Within the next six months, we may be requesting to meet with the Department of Health to discuss increasing AED availability and accessibility and funding for our FAST Signs of Stroke Campaign. It is also likely we will meet with the Minister of Environment and Tobacco Control to discuss tobacco and vaping legislation.   View
