Description of Organization:
The Institute acts as the voice of the investment fund industry by, among other activities, representing its members before governments and their agencies; collecting and disseminating statistical information; supporting and sponsoring educational programs and contributing to the public understanding of the investment funds industry

Description of Membership:
Membership includes corporations and firms that are Canadian mutual fund managers and mutual fund retail distributors. Interested firms and corporations from the accounting and legal professions, and other service providers to the Canadian investment funds industry also participate in the Institute's activities. Description 
Input on regulatory instruments and policies relating to investment funds, distribution of investment funds, financial services, financial planners and those relating to reform of pension and retirement savings programs with the objective of minimizing negative impact of the instruments and policies on the investment funds industry and the operations of our members. Review of the application of Goods and Services Tax (GST) to financial services, especially investment funds, to ensure fairness in treatment among competing products. Nova Scotia's potential support and participation in proposal to create a Co-operative Capital Markets Regulatory System to minimize negative impact and ensure an efficient securities regulatory structure across Canada.   View
