Description of Employer's Business: For more than 130 years, Merck, known as MSD outside of the United States and
Canada, has been inventing for life, bringing forward medicines and vaccines for
many of the world's most challenging diseases in pursuit of our mission to save and
improve lives. We demonstrate our commitment to patients and population health
by increasing access to health care through far-reaching policies, programs and

Description |
|
Focus of lobbying efforts will be on representations relating to the conditions
under which innovative drugs and vaccines are marketed and reimbursed in
Nova Scotia, including under the Nova Scotia Pharmacare Programs and the
Nova Scotia Drug Formulary or under federal legislation. More specifically,
representations are made to support a favourable and knowledgeable
environment to implement new or improve current immunizations programs, the
integrations of drugs into the Nova Scotia Pharmacare Programs and the Nova
Scotia Drug Formulary and to emphasize the importance that the federal and
provincial governments respect their respective jurisdiction with respect to the
approval, marketing and reimbursement of drugs. Merck Canada’s objective is to
preserve a regulatory framework which creates a favourable business
environment for the development of the life science sector, including innovative
drugs and vaccines, which are the company’s main sectors of activities. |
