Description |
|
In the past six months, CanREA, worked to ensure that wind, solar and energy storage were considered in the development of future electricity supplies in Nova Scotia with the goal of diversifying Nova Scotia's energy portfolio to reach a net-zero electricity grid in 2035 and help the Nova Scotian government to achieve its own objective of reaching 80% of renewable energy by 2030, cited in the Environmental Goals and Climate Change Reduction Act, and the need to phase-out coal by 2030:
- To achieve these objectives, CanREA made presentations to decision-makers and various stakeholders from a sustainable development perspective, advocating for green energy solutions such as increasing the number of wind and solar projects with the possibility of adding energy storage, which would create jobs in the targeted regions, reduce GHGs and contribute to the development of these technologies to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
- To achieve these objectives, CanREA made presentations to decision-makers and various stakeholders to ensure that the industry reduce potential labour shortages to carry out the important projects of the coming decades.
- To achieve these objectives, CanREA made presentations to decision-makers and various stakeholders to ensure that the industry is collaborating with communities.
