Who We Help

A combination of human and financial resources allows the United Way of the Halifax Region to tackle two main issues within HRM communities - poverty and health. By recognizing the root causes of these issues, the United Way is able to team up with many local agencies and programs, such as those listed below, to make the greatest possible impact and social change within communities.

In the Halifax Region alone, there are more than 55 agencies and over 100 programs which receive funding. These agencies include:
