Conrods Beach and Lawrencetown Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 76-1071 (September 14, 1976), N.S. Reg. 144/76


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 9th day of August, A.D., 1976, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Conrods Beach and Lawrencetown Beach, in the County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-5-56, marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.


Schedule “A”


ALL those two certain areas of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Conrods Beach and Lawrencetown Beach, both in the County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-5-56, attached hereto and marked Schedule “B” and being more particularly described as follows:


First Lot

Beginning at concrete survey monument # 1 situate on the southeastern corner of Lawrencetown Head as shown on Plan No. E-5-56, said monument # 1 having coordinates (North 16, 223, 853.70, East 1, 298, 651.78) based on the Nova Scotia Three Degree Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone Five, Central Meridian Sixty-four Degrees Thirty Minutes West Longitude;


From thence by astronomic bearings referenced to Meridian 64° 30' West Longitude due south two thousand five hundred fifty-three decimal seven feet to Point “A” having coordinates (N 16, 221, 300.0, E 1, 298, 651.78);


Thence due west eight thousand four hundred eighty-nine decimal ninety-three feet to Point “B” having coordinates (N 16, 221, 300.0, E 1, 290, 161.85);


Thence due north three thousand six hundred nine decimal forty-six feet to iron post # H4917 having coordinates (N 16, 224, 909.46, E 1, 290, 161.85);


Thence north sixty-seven degrees twelve minutes fifty two seconds east three thousand nine decimal twenty-one feet to iron post # H4912 having coordinates (N 16, 226, 074.88, E 1, 292, 936.22);


Thence north fifty-nine degrees fifty-six minutes twelve seconds east one thousand eight hundred twenty decimal seventy-one feet to iron post # H4913 having coordinates (N 16, 226, 986.97, E 1, 294, 511.99);


Thence south eighty-one degrees twenty-three minutes twenty-seven seconds east two thousand five hundred fifty-one decimal eighty-nine feet to iron post # H4914 situate on the western boundary of the public highway leading from West Lawrencetown to Three Fathom Harbour, the said post # H4914 having coordinates (N 16, 226, 604.97, E 1, 297, 035.13);


Thence south eleven degrees seventeen minutes thirty seconds east one thousand eight hundred sixty-two decimal eighty-six feet to iron post # H4915 having coordinates (N 16, 224, 778.18, E 1, 297, 399.88);


Thence south forty-three degrees thirty-one minutes twenty-five seconds east eight hundred fifty-six decimal twenty-two feet to iron post # H4916 having coordinates (N 16, 224, 157.34, E 1, 297, 989.52);


Thence south fifty-seven degrees twenty-nine minutes fifty-eight seconds east two hundred ninety-five decimal fifty-eight feet to iron post # H4918 having coordinates (N 16, 223, 998.52, E 1, 298, 238.80);


Thence south seventy degrees forty minutes, thirty-three seconds east four hundred thirty-seven decimal sixty-four feet to the place of beginning.


Excepting and reserving from the above described area of land all the portion thereof lying seaward from the mean high watermark.


Second Lot

Beginning at before mentioned concrete survey monument # 1 having coordinates (North 16, 223, 853.70, East 1, 298, 651.78);


From Thence by astronomic bearings referenced to Meridian Sixty-four Degrees Thirty Minutes West Longitude north eighty-eight degrees thirty-seven minutes sixteen seconds east six thousand eight hundred feet more or less to concrete survey monument # 2 situate near the mean high waterline at the eastern end of Lawrencetown Beach as shown on Plan E-5-56;


Thence due north eight hundred twenty feet more or less to a point situate on the southern boundary of the public road leading from Lawrencetown to Three Fathom Harbour;


Thence westerly following the southern boundary of said public highway a distance of seven thousand one hundred thirty feet more or less to a point situate due north from before-mentioned concrete survey monument # 1, being the place of beginning;


Thence due south four hundred sixty feet more or less to the place of beginning.


Excepting and reserving from the above described area of land all the portion thereof lying seaward from the mean high watermark.
