Lower Half Island Cove Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 79-1239 (October 2, 1979), N.S. Reg. 159/79


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 19th day of September, A.D., 1979, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Lower Half Island Cove Beach, in the County of Guysborough, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-11-29 marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.



Schedule “A”


All that certain parcel, piece or lot of land situate, lying and being landward from the mean high watermark of Lower Half Island Cove Beach, County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at Crown Land Iron Post (IP) Number 4, the said iron post being S 77° 49' 00" E, distant 3110.00 feet more or less from Crown Land Post Number 6804;


From thence by astronomic bearings, N 20° 20' 00" W, distant 145.42 feet more or less to Iron Post Number 3 set on the mean high watermark of Lower Half Island Cove Beach;


Thence in generally a northwesterly direction along the many courses of the said mean high watermark to Iron Post Number 1 being N 56° 58' 46" W, distant 1638.15 feet more or less from Iron Post Number 3;


Thence S 61° 46' 00" W, distant 145.42 feet more or less to Iron Post Number 2;


Thence S 61° 46' 00" W, distant 104.58 feet to a point;


Thence S 32° 29' 52" E, distant 506.07 feet more or less to Iron Post Number 7;


Thence S 65° 34' 21" E, distant 775.02 feet more or less to Iron Post Number 6;


Thence S 66° 17' 22" E, distant 294.57 feet more or less to Iron Post Number 5;


Thence S 71° 44' 00" E, distant 456.43 feet to a point;


Thence N 20° 20' 00" W, distant 104.58 feet more or less to the place of beginning.
