Arisaig Provincial Park Designation
made under Section 8 of the
Provincial Parks Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367
O.I.C. 81-1037 (August 18, 1981), N.S. Reg. 110/81
The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 11th day of August, A.D. 1981, pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to
(a) constitute all that area of land situate at Arisaig, in the County of Antigonish, Province of Nova Scotia, owned by Her Majesty in the right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Lands Record Plan No. E-13-19 marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules being attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and
(b) declare that the park shall be known by the name of “Arisaig Provincial Park”.
Schedule “A”
All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Arisaig, in the County of Antigonish, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan E-13-19 marked Schedule “B” attached hereto, the said parcel being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at Survey Marker A-575 set on the northern boundary of Highway No. 245 and marking the southwestern corner of lands now or formerly of Edward MacDonald and being (by grid bearings referenced to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone 4, central meridian 61° 30' west longitude) N 89° 25' 42" W a distance of 352.81' from Nova Scotia Co-ordinate Monument 12519;
Thence (from the place of beginning) westerly along the northern boundary of Highway 245 a distance of 767' more or less along the arc of a curve to the right to Survey Marker A-563;
Thence continuing westerly along the northern boundary of Highway 245 a distance of 20' more or less to the ordinary high water mark of Arisaig Brook;
Thence westerly and northerly along the ordinary high watermark of Arisaig Brook a distance of 1459' more or less to the ordinary high water mark of the Northumberland Strait;
Thence easterly along the ordinary high water mark of Northumberland Strait 1805' + to a point being N 33° 41' 43" W a distance of 71' more or less from Survey Marker A-564;
Thence S 33° 41' 43" E a distance of 71' + to Survey Marker A-564;
Thence S 33° 41' 43" E a distance of 228.22' + to Survey Marker A-565;
Thence N 58° 01' 31" E a distance of 149.76' + to Survey Marker A-566;
Thence S 35° 06' 37" E a distance of 65.45' + to Survey Marker A-567;
