Boylston Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 72-87 (January 25, 1972), N.S. Reg. 119/72


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 12th day of January, A.D., 1972, pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her Majesty in the right of the Province of Nova Scotia, and situate at Boylston in the County of Guysborough, to be a provincial park, said area of land being more particularly described in Schedule “A” attached to the report and recommendation, and shown outlined on the plan of survey marked Schedule “B” also attached to the report and recommendation; and

 

                (b)    declare the name by which the park shall be known a “Boylston Provincial Park.”



Schedule “A”

Boylston Provincial Park


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate at Boylston, County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia, shown as Lot “A”, Lot “B”, Lot “C”, and Lot “D”on Plan # E-8-27 recorded in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, and being more particularly described as follows:


Lot “A”

Beginning at Crown Land iron post number 8232 on the westerly boundary of Highway number 16 leading from Monastery to Guysborough, said post marking the most southeasterly corner of lands now or formerly owned by James Phalen;


From thence (by magnetic bearings 1969) south eighty-one degrees ten minutes west, one hundred eighty-five decimal forty-six feet along the southerly boundary of lands of the aforementioned James Phalen to Crown Land iron post number 8231;


Thence north fifteen degrees seven minutes west, two hundred fifty-four decimal one feet along the aforementioned Phalen lands to Crown Land iron post number 8230;


Thence north eighty-six degrees thirty-four minutes west, four hundred twenty-three decimal seventy-two feet along the aforementioned Phalen lands to Crown land iron post number 8229;


Thence south seventy-six degrees forty-seven minutes west, two hundred three decimal ninety-four feet along the aforementioned Phalen lands to Crown Lands iron post number 8228;


Thence north four degrees ten minutes east, sixty-eight decimal sixty-four feet along the aforementioned Phalen lands to the most northwesterly corner of the Phalen lands and said corner being also on the most southerly boundary of lands of Florence Kennedy and said corner being marked by Crown Land iron post number 8227;


Thence north eighty-six degrees zero minutes west, ninety-seven decimal sixty-eight feet along the southerly boundary of lands of the aforementioned Kennedy to the most southwesterly corner of the Kennedy lands and said corner being marked by Crown Lands iron post number 8226;


Thence north nine degrees nineteen minutes west, one hundred fifty-six decimal forty-two feet along the aforementioned Kennedy lands to Crown Land iron post number 8225;


Thence north thirty-six degrees eleven minutes east, two hundred seventy-nine decimal eighteen feet along the aforementioned Kennedy lands to Crown Land iron post number 8224;


Thence north eighty-eight degrees fifty-five minutes east, three hundred eight decimal twenty-two feet along the aforementioned Kennedy lands to Crown Land iron post number 8223;


Thence north seventeen degrees fifty-two minutes east, ninety-seven decimal sixty-eight feet along the aforementioned Kennedy lands to Crown Land iron post number 8222;


Thence north eighty-eight degrees fifteen minutes west, nine thousand one hundred forty-three decimal sixty-four feet to Crown Land iron post number 8240;


Thence south twenty-four degrees thirteen minutes east, two hundred three decimal twenty-eight feet to Crown Land iron post number 8239;


Thence continuing south twenty-four degrees thirteen minutes east, three hundred three decimal six feet to Crown Land iron post number 8238;


Thence south five degrees forty-seven minutes west, two hundred seven decimal nine feet to Crown Land iron post number 8237;


Thence south eighty-four degrees twenty minutes east, nine thousand two hundred forty-four decimal sixty-two feet to Crown Land iron post number 8236;


Thence north forty-eight degrees forty-two minutes east, one hundred thirty-five decimal ninety-six feet to Crown Land iron post number 8235;


Thence north twenty-one degrees fifty-six minutes east, fifty-five decimal forty-four feet to Crown land iron post number 8234;


Thence south eighty-seven degrees thirty-one minutes east, one hundred thirty-two decimal zero feet to Crown Land iron post number 8233 said post being on the westerly boundary of the aforementioned Highway Number 16;


Thence north zero degrees fifty-one minutes west along the aforementioned westerly boundary of Highway Number 16 four hundred fifteen decimal fourteen feet to the aforementioned Crown Land iron post number 8232 said post being also the place of beginning containing two hundred three acres more or less.


Lot “B”

Beginning at Crown Land iron post number 8362 set on the easterly boundary of Highway Number 16 said post being on a bearing from Crown Land iron post number 8223 north forty-three degrees eleven minutes east, five hundred six decimal zero feet;


From thence (by magnetic bearings 1969) northerly along the aforementioned easterly boundary of Highway Number 16 to Crown Land iron post 8365 said post being on a bearing from the place of beginning north seventeen degrees thirty-eight minutes west, nine hundred seventy-four decimal zero feet;


Thence north seventy-seven degrees nineteen minutes east, two hundred twenty-two decimal zero feet to Crown Land iron post number 8364 set on the mean high water line of Guysborough Harbour;


Thence southerly along the various courses of the aforementioned mean high water line of Guysborough Harbour to Crown Land iron post number 8363 said post being on a bearing from the last mentioned post 8364 south thirty-two degrees six minutes east, one thousand one hundred twenty-four decimal two feet;


Thence south eighty-seven degrees twenty minutes west, five hundred eighteen decimal eight feet to the place of beginning containing eleven decimal two acres more or less.


Lot “C”

Comprising Priest Island so-called and all the land containing therein; containing seven acres more or less.


Lot “D”

Beginning at Crown Land iron post number 8544 set on the easterly boundary of Highway Number 16 said point being in a straight line from an iron pin also being on the easterly boundary of Highway Number 16 and near the end of a foot bridge leading to Priest Island south thirty-seven degrees ten minutes west, eight hundred eleven decimal fourteen feet;


From thence (by magnetic bearing 1969) south fifty-four degrees zero minutes east, thirty-three decimal sixty-six feet or until it meets the mean high water line of Guysborough Harbour;


Thence northerly along the various courses of the mean high water line of the aforementioned Guysborough Harbour to a point being on a prolongation of a line through Crown Land iron post numbers 8226 and 8227 said posts marking two corners of Lot “A” on aforementioned plan E-8-27;


Thence north eighty-six degrees zero minutes west, to the easterly boundary of the aforementioned Highway Number 16;


Thence southerly along the aforementioned easterly boundary of Highway Number 16 to the aforementioned iron pin near the end of the foot bridge leading to Priest Island;


Thence continuing along the easterly boundary of Highway Number 16 to the place of beginning containing three decimal five acres more or less.
