East River Provincial Park Designation
made under Section 8 of the
Provincial Parks Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367
O.I.C. 79-653 (June 5, 1979), N.S. Reg. 82/79
The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 28th day of May, A.D., 1979, pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:
(a) constitute all that area of land situate at East River, in the County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia, owned by Her Majesty in the right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown on Schedule “B”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and
(b) declare that the name of the park shall be known as “East River Provincial Park”.
Schedule “A”
All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being “Lands of Her Majesty the Queen”, as shown on a plan of survey number P-064/78 prepared by Province of Nova Scotia Department of Lands and Forests, Surveys Division, dated May 17, 1978, being in the Community of East River, County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia, being more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at Nova Scotia Control Monument Number 15834;
Thence S 71° 55' 34" E, 2558.23' to an iron post, said post being the intersection of the southern boundary of Highway Number 3 with the mean high water mark of East River Bay, said post also hereinafter referred to as the point of beginning.
Thence S 85° 32' 11" E, 100.00' along the southern boundary of Highway Number 3 to a point, said point being the beginning of a curve to the right having a radius of 922.37';
Thence southeasterly 459.20' along the southern boundary of Highway Number 3 following the arc of said curve to an iron post, said post being S 71° 16' 21" E, 454.47' from the last described point, said post also being on the mean high water mark of East River Bay;
Thence westerly and northwesterly following the many courses of the mean high water mark of East River Bay, 602' more or less to the point of beginning, containing 1.0 acres, more or less.
All bearings being 3° modified transverse mercator grid bearings, central meridian 64° 30' west longitude.
