Porter’s Lake Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 72-610 (June 13, 1972), N.S. Reg. 127/72


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 1st day of June, A.D., 1972, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to

 

       (a)    constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia and situate at Porter’s Lake in the County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a provincial park, said area of land being included within the boundaries of the lands described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked Schedule “B”, both schedule and plan of survey attached to the report and recommendation; and

 

       (b)    declare the name by which the park shall be known a “Porter’s Lake Provincial Park”.


Schedule “A”

Porter’s Lake Provincial Park


All those certain lots, pieces or parcels of land situate, lying and being at Porter’s Lake, County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia, shown as Lot numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 on Plan #E-5-19 on file at the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax and being more particularly described as follows:


Lot 1

Beginning at a Crown Land iron post, designated as point “A” on aforementioned Plan #E-5-19 and situated on the mean high water line of Porter’s Lake being and intended to be

the most northeasterly angle of lands now or formerly of Rockingham Realty Co. Ltd.;


From thence in a direct line northwesterly along the northerly boundary of the lands now or formerly of Rockingham Realty Co. Ltd., eighty-seven decimal twelve feet to point “B” being a Crown Land iron post situated on the mean high water line of the easterly edge of Otter Lake, so-called;


Thence in a northwesterly direction along the mean high water line of the most northeasterly edge of Otter Lake even hundred fifty feet more or less or until it comes to point ‘C” being a Crown Land iron post situated at the most northerly tip of Otter Lake;


Thence (by astronomic bearings) north thirty-three degrees thirty-three minutes forty-five seconds west, two thousand three hundred seventy-eight decimal fifty-one feet tp [to] point “D” being a wooden stake situated on the southeasterly boundary of the highway leading from Highway #7 to Lawrencetown;


Thence continuing north thirty-three degrees thirty-three minutes forty-five seconds west, seventy-two decimal sixty feet to point “E” being a wooden stake situated on the northwesterly boundary of aforementioned highway leading from Highway #7 to Lawrencetown;


Thence continuing north thirty-three degrees thirty-three minutes forty-five seconds west, two hundred eighty-three decimal eighty feet to point “F” being a wooden stake;


Thence north seventy-one degrees sixteen minutes fifteen seconds east, four hundred ninety decimal thirty-eight feet to point “G” being a wooden stake situated on the aforementioned northwesterly boundary of the highway leading from Highway #7 to Lawrencetown;


Thence north sixty-three degrees twenty-four minutes fifteen seconds east, one hundred fifty-two decimal forty-six feet to point “H” being a wooden stake situated on the aforementioned southeasterly boundary of the highway leading from Highway #7 to Lawrencetown;


Thence north seventy-two degrees forty-seven minutes fifteen seconds east, six hundred seventy-five decimal eighty-four feet to point “J” being a wooden stake;


Thence continuing north seventy-two degrees forty-seven minutes fifteen seconds east, one thousand two hundred sixty decimal sixty feet to point “K” being a wooden stake situated on the mean high water line of Porter’s Lake;


Thence following the several courses of the mean high water line of Porter’s Lake southerly, northeasterly, southerly, southwesterly, northerly and southwesterly twelve thousand three hundred feet more or less to the place of beginning containing one hundred ninety-five acres more or less;


Also including a sixty-six foot wide right-of-way connecting the above described lot to the aforementioned highway leading from Highway #7 to Lawrencetown, the centreline of said right-of-way being more particularly described as follows;


Beginning at aforementioned point “J”;


From thence north forty-four degrees thirteen minutes forty-five seconds west, two hundred fifty-eight decimal seventy-two feet;

 

Thence north sixty-one degrees fifty-three minutes forty-five seconds west, one hundred twenty-two decimal seventy-six feet to the aforementioned southeasterly boundary of the highway leading from Highway #7 to Lawrencetown; said right-of-way containing decimal fifty-eight acres more or less.


Saving and excepting from the above described Lot No. 1 that portion of the public highway right-of-way being a portion of Highway No. 7 which passes or crosses through the lands herein described.


Lot 2

Comprising Split Island, so-called, being in fact two islands as shown on Plan No. E-5-19, the said two islands containing six acres of land more or less as shown on the aforesaid plan;


Lot 3

Comprising an island shown as Lot 3 and all the land contained therein, containing thirteen acres more or less as shown on said Plan No. E-5-19;


Lot 4

Comprising an island shown as Lot 4 and all the land contained therein, containing one decimal five acres more or less as shown on said Plan No. E-5-19;


Lot 5

Comprising an island shown as Lot 5 and all the land contained therein, containing zero decimal seven acres more or less as shown on said Plan No. E-5-19;


Lot 6

Comprising an island shown as Lot 6 and all the land contained therein, containing zero decimal one acre more or less as shown on said Plan No. E-5-19.
