Indian Man Lake Nature Reserve Designation
made under Section 14 of the
Special Places Protection Act

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Education dated the 10th day of May, A.D., 1990, pursuant to subsections (1), (2), (3) and (4) of Section 14 of Chapter 438 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Special Places Protection Act, is pleased, effective the 4th day of June, A.D., 1990, to designate as an ecological site the land described in Schedule “A” and outlined in bold line on Schedule “B” which ecological site shall be managed in accordance with the Management Plan attached as Schedule “C”; all said Schedules are attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation, which shall be known as the Indian Man Lake Nature Reserve.
Schedule “A”
ALL that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Indian Man Lake, Garden of Eden Barrens, in the County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia as shown on a Plan of Survey (Field plot P-028/89) signed on the 21st day of February, A.D., 1989, by Brian J. Cameron, Nova Scotia Land Surveyor, and filed in the Department of Lands and Forests Office, Dartmouth, the said parcel being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a Survey Marker (S.M.) No. G10482 situate (by astronomic azimuths referenced to 61° 30' west longitude meridian) 109° 50' 50" a distance of 1955 feet from the intersection of MacDonald (or Duncan Macdonald) Brook with the southern most loop of forest access road in the Garden of Eden Barrens road system;
THENCE 184° 39' 52" a distance of 4391.89 feet to S.M. No. G10483;
THENCE 80° 50' 33" a distance of 2549.15 feet to S.M. No. G10484;
THENCE 30° 41' 23" a distance of 1910.28 feet to S.M. No. G10485;
THENCE 04° 39' 28" a distance of 1964.76 feet to S.M. No. G10486;
THENCE 291° 29' 24" a distance of 2693.11 feet to S.M. No. G10481;
THENCE 231° 59' 32" a distance of 1000.28 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
The above described lot contains an area of 311.32 acres, more or less.

I, Randy Delorey, Minister of Environment for the Province of Nova Scotia, pursuant to Section 14 of Chapter 438 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Special Places Protection Act, hereby designate the area of land described in Appendix A and shown on the map attached as Appendix B as an addition to the Indian Man Lake Nature Reserve ecological site, originally designated by the Minister of Education and approved by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 90-585 dated May 15, 1990, N.S. Reg. 136/90.
Pursuant to subsection 14(3) of the Act, this designation is effective on and after the date it is published in the Royal Gazette.
In accordance with subsection 14(6) of the Act, this designation will be registered in the registry of deeds office for the registration district in which the lands are situated.

Description of Addition to Indian Man Lake Nature Reserve Ecological Site
(original designation approved by Order in Council 90-585)
All and singular that certain lot, piece or parcel of land and land covered by water located in the County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia, shown outlined in bold line as Indian Man Lake Nature Reserve Addition on Field Plot P-076/15, filed at the Surveys Division at the Department of Natural Resources, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and containing an area of 405 hectares more or less.
