Sunnybrae Game Sanctuary Designation made under Section 113 of the
Wildlife Act

The Administrator in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 26th day of April, A.D. 1955 and pursuant to the provisions of Section 154 of the Revised Statutes, 1954, the Lands and Forests Act, is pleased to declare the following described area of the Province of Nova Scotia, in the County of Pictou to be a Game Sanctuary; the said area to be known as the Sunnybrae Game Sanctuary:
All that area of land situate at MacKinnon Lake (Big Lake) in the District of Sunny Brae, in the County of Pictou, being bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a post scribed No. 1935 standing on the south east angle of a lot of land containing fifty acres granted by the Crown to John MacDonald under Grant No. 17188 on the 31st day of December, A.D. 1891, situated at MacKinnon Lake, in the District of Sunny Brae, in the County of Pictou;
Thence to run westerly along the southern boundary line of the said grant forty-two chains and fifty links or to a post scribed No. 1862 at the south west angle thereof it being also the south east angle of Crown Grant No. 20768 to Thomas Cantley;
Thence by the magnet in the year A.D. 1936 north eighty-seven degrees and fifteen minutes west seventeen chains eight links along the southern boundary line of the Thomas Cantley Grant to a post scribed No. 1857;
Thence north two degrees east along the western boundary line of the said Cantley Grant and the projection thereof one hundred eighteen chains more or less or to the northern boundary line of expired Crown Lease No. 1015;
Thence easterly along the said lease line and its projection eighteen chains or to the west boundary line of a lot of land containing four hundred acres granted by the Crown to John Forbes;
Thence south thirty-seven degrees and fifty-two minutes east fifteen chains or to a post scribed No. 1906 at the south west angle of the last mentioned grant;
Thence north fifty-two degrees and forty minutes east forty-five chains and thirty-eight links to a post scribed No. 1907;
Thence south thirty-seven degrees forty-five minutes east sixteen chains and seventy links to a post scribed No. 1908;
Thence north fifty-two degrees thirty minutes east twenty-nine chains ninety-four links to a post scribed No. 1909;
Thence south thirty-eight degrees east twenty-six chains sixty-nine links; south thirty-nine degrees thirty minutes east eleven chains twenty-nine links to a post scribed No. 1910;
Thence south fifty-two degrees fifty minutes west twenty-five chains to a post scribed No. 1911;
Thence south thirty-seven degrees fifteen minutes east forty-four chains thirty-four links to a post scribed No. 1912;
Thence in a straight line south westerly ninety-four chains or to post No. 1935 the place of beginning.
