Registration Fees for Campers Regulations
made under subsection 302(1) of the
Motor Vehicle Act

1 These regulations may be cited as the Registration Fees for Campers Regulations.

Definition of “camper”
1A In these regulations “camper” means a motor vehicle designed or reconstructed, equipped and used or intended to be used primarily for sleeping, eating and living quarters, and includes a motorized home or a bus converted for such purposes.

Classification and annual registration fees
2 There is a class of vehicle designated and known as a camper.
3 (1) In this Section,
(a) “Class 1 Camper” means a camper having a weight of up to and including 1500 kilograms;
(b) “Class 2 Camper” means a camper having a weight of between 1501 and 3200 kilograms, inclusive;
(c) “Class 3 Camper” means a camper having a weight of between 3201 and 4100 kilograms, inclusive;
(d) “Class 4 Camper” means a camper having a weight of between 4101 and 5000 kilograms, inclusive;
(e) “Class 5 Camper” means a camper having a weight of 5001 kg or more.

(2) Class 1, 2, 3 and 4 Campers shall be registered under the staggered system of registration.
(3) The registration fees for campers are as follows:
Class 1 Camper
0–1500 kg
$88.45 per year
Class 2 Camper
1501–3200 kg
$110.85 per year
Class 3 Camper
3201–4100 kg
$138.25 per year
Class 4 Camper
4101–5000 kg
$166.95 per year

(4) The registration fee for a Class 5 Camper shall be the amount payable pursuant to the Registration Fees for Commercial Motor Vehicles Regulations under the Motor Vehicle Act for a commercial motor vehicle of the same weight.

Partial-year registration of Class 5 Camper
4 (1) A Class 5 Camper may be registered for a partial year upon payment to the Department of
(a) a fee of 1/12 of the annual registration fee multiplied by the number of months for which the camper is to be registered; and
(b) a short-term registration administration fee in the amount prescribed in the regulations respecting documents and services fees under the Motor Vehicle Act.
(2) Partial-year registration of a Class 5 Camper pursuant to subsection (1) must be for a period of not less than 3 months and not more than 12 months.
