Tidnish Dock Provincial Park Designation
made under Section 8 of the
Provincial Parks Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367
O.I.C. 82-896 (July 27, 1982), N.S. Reg. 163/82
The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 30th day of June, A.D., 1982, and pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:
(a) constitute all that area of land situate at Tidnish Dock, in the County of Cumberland, owned by Her Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-13-34 marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and
(b) declare that the park shall be known by the name of “Tidnish Dock Provincial Park”.
Schedule “A”
All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Tidnish Dock, in the County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia as shown on Plan No. E-13-34 filed in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, the said land being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly boundary of a public road leading from Northport to Tidnish Bridge with the westerly boundary of a public road leading in a northerly direction to a dead end;
Thence N 15° 10' E, 220.4 feet following the westerly boundary of the said public road leading to a dead end to a beginning of a curve to the right;
Thence continuing along the westerly boundary of the said public road 202 feet more or less to the end of the aforementioned curve to the right, said end of curve being N 21° 29' E, 201.0 feet from the aforementioned beginning of curve;
Thence continuing along the westerly boundary of the said public road 45 feet more or less to the end thereof;
Thence at right angles in a southeasterly direction 66 feet crossing the end of the said public road;
Thence in a northerly direction following the easterly boundary of a former public road 400 feet more or less and continuing in a prolongation of the easterly boundary of a former public road, 160 feet more or less until it meets the mean high water of Baie Verte;
Thence following the various courses of the mean high water of Baie Verte in a northerly and westerly direction, 1150 feet more or less to the northeasterly corner of lands now or formerly of the Church of England;
Thence S 47° 59' W, 220 feet more or less along the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of the Church of England to a point;
Thence continuing S 47° 59" W, 257.4 feet along the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of the Church of England and along lands of owners unknown to a point on the northerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Harold Baxter;
Thence S 48° 22' E, 105.2 feet along lands now or formerly of Harold Baxter to an angle thereof;
Thence S 49° 15' W, 1191.7 feet along the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Harold Baxter to a point on the northerly boundary of the aforementioned public road leading from Northport to Tidnish Bridge;
Thence following the northerly boundary of the said public road S 68° 47' E, 276.4 feet to a point;
Thence continuing along the northerly boundary of said public road S 67° 55' E, 88.5 feet to a point;
Thence continuing along the northerly boundary of the said public road S 68° 51' E, 354.1 feet to the westerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Grace Benstead;
Thence N 24° 57' E, 97.0 feet along the westerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Grace Benstead to an angle thereof;
Thence S 69° 27' E, 96.0 feet along the northerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Grace Benstead to an angle thereof;
Thence S 24° 50" W, 97.0 feet along the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Grace Benstead to a point on the northerly boundary of the aforementioned public road leading from Northport to Tidnish Bridge;
Thence S 68° 24' E, 224.7 feet along the northerly boundary of the said public road to the place of beginning.
All bearings are referenced to the astronomic meridian passing through the point of beginning.
The above described parcel of land contains 25.5 acres more or less.
