Citation

1        These regulations may be cited as the Change of Sex Indicator Regulations.


Definitions

2        In these regulations,

 

“Act” means the Vital Statistics Act;

 

“physician” means medical practitioner as defined in the Medical Act or the equivalent under the legislation of a jurisdiction other than the Province;

 

“psychologist” means registered psychologist or candidate as defined in the Psychologists Act or the equivalent under the legislation of a jurisdiction other than the Province;


Professions prescribed for statement in support of application

3        (1)    [repealed]

 

          (2)    The following are prescribed as professions whose members are authorized to provide a written statement required by clause 25(2)(c) of the Act to support an application by a person who is under the age of 16 to change the sex shown on the person’s birth registration:

 

                   (a)      physician;

 

                   (b)     psychologist.
