Card Lake Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 76-1409 (November 30, 1976), N.S. Reg. 163/76


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 29th day of October, A.D., 1976, pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land including land covered with water, owned by Her Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, situate at or near Card Lake, in the County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined on Schedule “B”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and

 

                (b)    declare that the park shall be known as “Card Lake Provincial Park”.

Card Lake Provincial Park


All that certain parcel, piece or lot of land situate, lying and being at or near Card Lake, County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia, being and intending to be Card Lake Provincial Park as shown on Plan No. E-5-70 recorded at the Crown Lands Registry Office, Halifax, Nova Scotia and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at Crown Land Iron Post (C.L.I.P.) No. 109 set at the intersection of the northern boundary line of Highway No. 14 and the northeastern boundary line of lands of the Home Mission Board of the United Baptist Convention;


From Thence by magnetic (1953) bearings N 21° W, along the northeastern boundary line of the said United Baptist Convention lands, distance 382.14 feet more or less to C.L.I.P. No. 108;


Thence S 69° W, along the northwestern boundary line of the said United Baptist Convention lands, distance 264 feet more or less to C.L.I.P. No. 107 set on the northeastern boundary line of the Old Annapolis Road;


Thence in a northwesterly direction along the many courses of the said Old Annapolis Road, distance 1086 feet more or less to C.L.I.P. No. 147 set at the intersection of the said road boundary line and the southern boundary line of land now or formerly of James Henry Levy;


Thence S 87° 20' E, along the said Levy lands, distance 166.30 feet more or less to C.L.I.P. No. 148;


Thence N 03° 25' E along the said Levy lands, distance 91.74 feet to a point;


Thence N 05° 05' W along the said Levy lands, distance 200.64 feet to a point;


Thence N 12° 25' W along the said Levy lands, distance 273.32 feet more or less to C.L.I.P. No. 149;


Thence N 36° 25' E along the said Levy lands, distance 1409.76 feet more or less to C.L.I.P. No. 158;


Thence N 38° 05' E along the said Levy lands, distance 86.46 feet more or less to the mean high water mark of Card Lake;


Thence in generally a southeasterly and northeasterly direction along the many courses of the said mean high water mark of Card Lake, distance 14210 feet more or less or until it meets the southwestern boundary line of lands now or formerly of the Minas Basin Pulp and Power Company Limited;


Thence by magnetic (1949) bearing, S 38° 00' E along the said Minas Basin Pulp and Power Company Limited lands, distance 2772 feet more or less to C.L.I.P. No. 101 set on the northwestern boundary line of Highway No. 14;


Thence in a southwesterly direction along the many courses of the Old Highway No. 14, distance 8018 feet more or less to the point of beginning. The said parcel, piece or lot of land containing 280 acres be the same more or less.
