Shinimicas Provincial Park Designation
made under Section 8 of the
Provincial Parks Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367
O.I.C. 73-231 (March 6, 1973), N.S. Reg. 136/73
The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 1st day of February, A.D., 1973, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to
(a) constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia and situate at Shinimicas Bridge, in the County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, said area of land being included within the boundaries of the lands described in Schedule “A” attached to the report and recommendation, and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked Schedule “B” also attached to the report and recommendation;
(b) declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Shinimicas Provincial Park”.

Shinimicas Provincial Park
All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying or being at Shinimicas Bridge, in the County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown on Plan E-5-27 filed in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at Crown Survey Post No. C1017 situated on the southern boundary of public highway No. 6 leading from Pugwash to Amherst, and being westerly, a distance of forty-six feet more or less from a point “A” shown on said plan E-5-27, said point “A” being that point where the southern boundary of said highway No. 6 intersects the westerly edge of Shinimicas River so-called;
From thence easterly following the southern boundary of said highway No. 6 forty-six feet, more or less, to the aforementioned point “A”;
Thence in a southerly direction following the several courses of the western edge of Shinimicas River to Crown Survey Post No. C1018, situate (by astronomic bearings) south five degrees twenty-six minutes twenty-one seconds west, one thousand one hundred two decimal twenty-four feet from aforesaid post No. C1017;
Thence north fifty-six degrees twelve minutes twenty-four seconds west, one hundred ninety-two decimal zero five feet to Crown Survey Post No. C1019;
Thence south eighty-seven degrees forty-eight minutes thirty-three seconds west, two hundred seventy-eight decimal forty feet to Crown Survey Post No. C1020;
Thence north twenty-eight degrees ten minutes three seconds west, three hundred ninety-two decimal sixteen feet to Crown Survey Post No. C1021 situated near the eastern edge of a small brook flowing in a southerly direction;
Thence north three degrees forty-five minutes forty-eight seconds east to a point marked “B” on said Plan E-5-27, said point “B” being situate on the eastern edge of aforesaid brook;
Thence in a northerly direction following the eastern edge of said brook to a point marked “C” on said plan, said point “C” being situate on the southern boundary of the aforesaid public highway No, 6 leading from Pugwash to Amherst;
Thence easterly following the southern boundary of said highway twenty feet more or less to Crown Survey Post No. C1022 situated north three degrees forty-five minutes forty-eight seconds east, nine hundred eleven decimal ninety-two feet from aforementioned Crown Survey Post No. C1021, and being north sixty-nine degrees seven minutes twenty-two seconds west, seven hundred fourteen decimal thirty-two feet from the place of beginning;
Thence easterly following the said southern boundary of public highway No. 6 to the place of beginning, the said lot containing nineteen acres more or less.
