St. Anns Provincial Park Designation
made under Section 8 of the
Provincial Parks Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367
O.I.C. 83-321 (March 29, 1983), N.S. Reg. 43/83
The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 11th day of March, A.D., 1983, and pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to
(a) constitute all that area of land situate at St. Anns, in the County of Victoria, owned by Her Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-5-72 marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and
(b) declare that the park shall be known by the name of “St. Anns Provincial Park”.
Schedule “A”
All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at or near St. Anns, County of Victoria, Province of Nova Scotia, shown on plan number E-5-72 filed in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, Nova Scotia, said parcel of land being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a Survey Marker (S.M.) numbered V-2400 situate at the most southeasterly angle of Crown Grant No. 23391 to Alex J. MacLeod, said S.M. also being situated at a point on the westerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Alan MacLeod;
From thence following the said westerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Alan MacLeod (by magnetic bearings 1950) S 47° 00' E, 289.8 feet, more or less, crossing a public highway commonly known as the Cabot Trail to S.M. V-171;
Thence continuing to follow the said westerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Alan MacLeod, S 47° 00' E, 76 feet, more or less to the ordinary high water mark of St. Anns Harbour;
Thence following the various courses of the ordinary high water mark of St. Anns Harbour in a southwesterly direction 1430 feet, more or less, to the southeasterly angle of lands now or formerly of Alexander MacAulay;
Thence following the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Alexander MacAulay N 46° 00' W, 4 feet more or less to S.M. V-165 said S.M. being S 39° 10' W, 1350 feet more or less from previously described S.M. V-171;
Thence continuing to follow the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Alexander MacAulay and crossing the aforementioned Cabot Trail N 46° 00' W, 415.8 feet, more or less, to S.M. V-2405, said S.M. being situated at the southwesterly angle of the aforementioned Crown Grant No. 23391;
Thence following the southerly boundary of Crown Grant No. 23391 (by astronomic bearing) N 18° 14' 02" E, 1340.6 feet more or less to the place of beginning containing 9 acres more or less not including land reserved for the aforementioned Cabot Trail and also not including a small area of land reserved for a cemetery site.
Excepting and reserving a small parcel of land used as a cemetery site and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at Survey Marker (S.M.) V-155, said S.M. being (by magnetic bearings 1950) S 65° 00' W, 235 feet more or less from previously described S.M. V-171;
From thence S 46° 45' W, 82 feet more or less to S.M. V-156;
Thence S 43° 15' E, 81 feet more or less to S.M. V-157;
Thence N 46° 45' E, 82 feet more or less to SM. V-158;
Thence N 43° 15' W, 81 feet more or less to the place of beginning containing 0.15 acres, more or less.
Also excepting and reserving that portion of the aforementioned Cabot Trail which passes through the described area as shown on the aforementioned plan number E-5-72.
