South West Margaree Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 75-161 (February 11, 1975), N.S. Reg. 37/75


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 20th day of January, A.D., 1975, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

       (a)    constitute all that area of land including land covered with water, owned by Her Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, and situate at or near South West Margaree, in the County of Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, said area of land being included within the boundaries of the lands described in Schedule “A” attached to the report and recommendation, and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked Schedule “B”, also attached to the report and recommendation; and

 

       (b)    declare the name by which the park shall be known as “South West Margaree Provincial Park”.



Schedule “A”

South West Margaree Provincial Park


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at or near South West Margaree, County of Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia as is shown on Plan E-5-42, recorded in the Crown Land Registry office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at a Crown Land Iron Post (C.L.I.P.) set on the intersection of the southwestern boundary of Highway No. 19 and the northwestern boundary of the road to farms;


Thence south fifty-one degrees forty-four minutes west (S 51° 44' W) along the northwestern boundary of the said road to farms distant two hundred thirty-one decimal eighty-six (231.86) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence south thirty-seven degrees twenty-seven minutes west (S 37° 27' W) along the northwestern boundary of the said road to farms distant four hundred forty-two decimal forty (442.40) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence southwesterly along the northwestern boundary of said road to farms to a C.L.I.P. marked I-1864 set on the most eastern corner of lands now or formerly owned by John G. MacLeod, said C.L.I.P. marked I-1864 being south sixteen degrees nine minutes forty-six seconds west (S 16° 09' 46" W), distant four hundred nineteen decimal ninety-five (419.95) feet from the immediate above mentioned C.L.I.P.;


Thence north fifty-two degrees twenty-two minutes fifty seconds west (N 52° 22' 50" W) along the eastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by John G. MacLeod, distant two hundred forty-four decimal zero (244.0) feet to a C.L.I.P. marked I-1865;


Thence north thirty-nine degrees thirty-seven minutes fifty seconds west (N 39° 37' 50" W) along the eastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by John G. MacLeod, distant two hundred thirty-eight decimal sixty-three (238.63) feet to a C.L.I.P. marked I-1866;


Thence south fifty-seven degrees fifty minutes eighteen seconds west (S 57° 50' 18" W) along the eastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by John G. MacLeod, distant fifty decimal thirty-four (50.34) feet to a C.L.I.P. marked I-1867;


Thence north thirty-one degrees eighteen minutes thirty-five seconds west (N 31° 18' 35" W) along the eastern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by John G. MacLeod, distant six hundred forty-nine decimal thirty-two (649.32) feet to a C.L.I.P. marked I-1868 set on the southern boundary of lands now or formerly owned by Dougald Collins;


Thence south eighty-seven degrees fourteen minutes four seconds east (S 87° 14' 04" E) along the southern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Dougald Collins, distant

six hundred twelve decimal twenty-one (612.21) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence north eighty-nine degrees thirty-nine minutes east (N 89° 39' E) along the southern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Dougald Collins, distant one hundred forty-six decimal fifty-two (146.52) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence north fifty degrees forty-one minutes east (N 50° 41' E) along the southern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by Dougald Collins, distant two hundred eighteen decimal twenty (218.20) feet to a C.L.I.P. set on the western boundary of the old highway;


Thence north forty-nine degrees twelve minutes east (N 49° 12' E) crossing said old highway, distant sixty-eight decimal seventy-seven (68.77) feet to a C.L.I.P. set on the eastern boundary of said old highway;


Thence north forty-two degrees twenty minutes fifty seconds west (N 42° 20' 50" W) along the northeastern boundary of said old highway, distant two hundred fifty-one decimal forty-three (251.43) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence north sixty-six degrees fifty-eight minutes five seconds west (N 66° 58' 05" W) along the northeastern boundary of said old highway, distant two hundred nine decimal thirty-nine (209.39) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence north seventy-seven degrees nine minutes twenty-five seconds west (N 77° 09' 25" W) along the northeastern boundary of said old highway, distant two hundred sixty-three decimal seventy-four (263.74) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence north nineteen degrees twenty-three minutes five seconds east (N 19° 23' 05" E), distant three hundred eighty-seven decimal sixty (387.60) feet to a C.L.I.P. set on the southwestern boundary of said Highway No. 19;


Thence south forty-four degrees forty-eight minutes seven seconds east (S 44° 48' 07" E) along the southwestern boundary of said Highway No. 19, distant eight hundred twenty-four decimal fifty (824.50) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence south forty-four degrees fifty-six minutes east (S 44° 56' E) along the southwestern boundary of said Highway No. 19, distant seventy-nine decimal two (79.2) feet to a C.L.I.P.;


Thence south forty-four degrees fifty-six minutes east (S 44° 56' E) along the southwestern boundary of said Highway No. 19, distant three hundred sixteen decimal eight (316.8) feet to the place of beginning.


The above bearings are astronomic.


The above described lands containing an area of seventeen decimal six (17.6) acres more or less.


Saving and excepting out of the above described lands the sixty-six (66) foot right-of-way for the said old highway as shown on said Plan E-5-42.
