Partridge Island Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 77-120 (February 8, 1977), N.S. Reg. 16/77


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 7th day of January, A.D., 1977, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Partridge Island Beach, in the County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-10-70, marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.


Schedule “A”


All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Partridge Island Beach, in the County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-10-70, attached hereto and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at crown survey post #C1373 situated on the eastern edge of the gravel road crossing Partridge Island and being N 20° 15' 29" W, 1015.43 feet from Hydrographic survey monument named “PART”;


From thence (by astronomic bearings referred to meridian 61° 30' West Longitude) N 39° 28' 38" W, 402.25 feet to crown survey post #C1374;


Thence S 56° 00' 00" W, 1200.00 feet to a point marked “B” on said plan # E-10-70, said point “B” being a calculated point in the waters of East Bay;


Thence N 03° 40' 15" E, 1620.03 feet to a point marked “A” on said plan, said point “A” being a calculated point in the waters of East Bay;


Thence N 74° 12' 04" E, 600.00 feet to a crown survey post #C1375 situated N 15° 47' 56" W, 1152.58 feet from aforesaid post #C1374;


Thence S 87° 11' 06" E, 1196.83 feet to crown survey post #C1376;


Thence N 78° 29' 11" E, 881.02 feet to crown survey post #C1377;


Thence N 59° 57' 24" E, 448.21 feet to crown survey post #C1378 situated S 66° 34' 14" W, 8600.97 feet from hydrographic survey monument named “GOLF”;


Thence S 39° 28' 38" E, 700.00 feet to a point marked “D” on said plan, said point “D” being a calculated point situated in the water of East Bay;


Thence S 46° 49' 52" W, 2573.94 feet to a point marked “C” on said plan, said point “C” being a calculated point in the waters of East Bay;


Thence N 39° 28' 38" W, 700.00 feet to the place of beginning.


Excepting and reserving from the above described area of land all the portion thereof lying seaward from the mean high watermark.
