West Apple River Beach Designation
made under subsection 5(1) of the
Beaches Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 24th day of April, A.D., 1979, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high water mark of West Apple River Beach, in the County of Cumberland, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-11-19 marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A” both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.
Schedule “A”
All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being “Lands Lying Landward From The Mean High Water Mark of West Apple River Beach” as shown on a plan of survey number P-162/78 prepared by Province of Nova Scotia Department of Lands and Forests, Surveys Division, dated November 14, 1978 being in the Community of West Apple River, County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at iron post #1, said post #1 being on the northwestern boundary of the West Apple River to Apple River Highway as shown on said plan;
Thence northeasterly following the aforementioned northwestern highway boundary 1142 feet more or less to a point;
Thence northerly 5 feet more or less to iron post #2, said post being on the mean high water mark of Apple River, said post also being distant from iron post #1 by being on a clockwise angle at said iron post #1 from the centreline of the Cape Capstan lighthouse 102° 43' 21", 518.21 feet to Hub A then clockwise angle at said Hub A from said iron post #1 185° 07' 58", 572.21 feet to said iron post #2;
Thence following the many courses northerly and southwesterly of the mean high water mark of Apple River, 7300 feet more or less to a point, said point being on line between said iron post #1 and the centreline of said Cape Capstan lighthouse;
Thence southeasterly 50 feet more or less along the line between said iron post #1 and the centreline of said Cape Capstan lighthouse to the point of beginning.
