Lumden Pond Provincial Park Designation
made under Section 8 of the
Provincial Parks Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367
O.I.C. 81-1337 (November 3, 1981), N.S. Reg. 151/81
The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 16th day of October, 1981, and pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:
(a) constitute all that area of land situate at Lumsden Pond, in the County of Kings, Province of Nova Scotia, owned by Her Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-10-39 “B” marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and
(b) declare that the park shall be known by the name of “Lumsden Pond Provincial Park”.
Schedule “A”
All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate lying and being at Lumsden Pond in the County of Kings, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-10-39 “B” marked Schedule “B” attached hereto and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at an iron post, said post being N 62° 54' 31" W, 529.51' from a point being traverse station Hub 3, said point also being the point of solar observation as shown on said plan;
From thence by astronomic bearings S 82° 59' 38" E, 55.0' to the highwater mark of the western shore of Hell’s Gate Pond;
Thence in a southerly direction 2050' more or less along the western shore of Hell’s Gate Pond and then along the western shore of the brook leading from Lumsden Pond into Hell’s Gate Pond and then along the western shore of Lumsden Pond to a point;
Thence S 68° 32' 23" W, 5.0' to an iron post, said post being S 12° 30' 30" W, 1624.12' from a point, said point being the aforementioned point of solar observation;
Thence continuing S 68° 32' 23" W, 91.53' to a point, said point being traverse station Hub 13 as shown on said plan;
Thence continuing S 68° 32' 23" W, 52.06' to an iron post, said post being on the northeastern boundary of a 40' right-of-way;
Thence N 62° 17' 13" W, 170.40' along the northeastern boundary of said right-of-way to an iron post;
Thence N 40° 23' 03" W, 132.35' continuing along the northeastern boundary of said right-of-way to an iron post, said post being on the centreline of Nova Scotia Power Corporation power line;
Thence N 05° 20' 01" W, 25.18' along the centre line of the aforementioned power line to a point, said point being traverse station Hub 2 as shown on said plan;
Thence continuing along the centre line of the aforementioned power line N 05° 20' 01" W, 1582.87 feet to a point, said point being traverse station Hub 1 as shown on said plan;
Thence continuing along the centre line of the aforementioned power line N 05° 20' 01' W, 149.60' to an iron post;
Thence S 82° 59' 38"E, 417.12' to the place of beginning.
Excepting and reserving from the above-described parcel of land the 66' wide right-of-way for a highway leading from Lumsden Pond to Black River as shown on said plan.
The above-described parcel of land excluding the highway contains 16.2 acres more or less.
