Improved Park and Playground for Greystone Community

Housing Nova Scotia

Lavender Park and Playground in Spryfield is getting an upgrade.

The changes to the park, located in the heart of the Greystone community, will make it more enjoyable for families. The additions will include toddler playground equipment, a gazebo, new trees and walkways and fencing all around.

“Housing Nova Scotia and Metro Regional Housing Authority have been working with communities across the region to help families find safe and affordable places to live,” said Brendan Maguire, MLA for Halifax Atlantic, on behalf of Kelly Regan, Minister Responsible for Housing Nova Scotia. “There’s no better way to build a safe and connected community than to develop a place where families can gather, and kids can play and grow.”

Most of the families that live in the Greystone community have children and the fencing will make the park safer for them.

The project is expected to go to tender this fall. The improvements are expected to be completed in the spring of 2019.
