Deputy Minister and CEO Justin Huston

Justin Huston is the Chief Executive Officer of the Office of L’nu Affairs and the Deputy Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage.

Prior to becoming CEO of L’nu Affairs (formerly Aboriginal Affairs) in December 2016, he served as the Executive Director of L’nu and as Director of Consultation.

Justin was Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs from February 2021 to August 2021. From June 2019 to February 2021 Justin was Deputy Minister for Communities, Culture and Heritage which includes African Nova Scotian Affairs, Acadian Affairs and Francophonie, and Gaelic Affairs.

Justin joined the provincial government in 2002 working at the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture on coastal management issues. He has a Master of Marine Management from Dalhousie University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Human Ecology from the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine.
