Provincial Court Act
Whereas the Provincial Court Act requires the appointment of a Tribunal to determine salaries and benefits for provincially appointed judges;

And Whereas the Minister of Justice is required to forward the report to the Governor in Council, who must cause the recommendations in the report to be implemented;

And Whereas the recommendations of the Tribunal have the same force and effect as if enacted by the Legislature;

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated November 2, 2005, and pursuant to Section 21K of Chapter 238 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Provincial Court Act, is pleased to receive the report of the Nova Scotia Tribunal on Provincial Judges' Salaries and Benefits (2004-2007) dated September 12, 2005, containing its recommendations pertaining to the salaries and benefits for judges appointed by the Province of Nova Scotia for the period April 1, 2005 to March 31, 2008 inclusive, and is obliged to order that the Tribunal's recommendations be implemented, effective on and after April 1, 2005.
