The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated June 25, 2025, and pursuant to Sections 7, 41A and 84 of Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act, Section 11 of Chapter 155 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Executive Council Act, Section 10 of Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and Section 4 of the Deputy Minister Pension Arrangement Regulations, N.S. Reg. 30/2024, made by Order in Council 2024-44 dated February 13, 2024, is pleased,
(a) effective July 7, 2025, to:
i. revoke the appointment of Natasha Clarke as Deputy Minister of Cyber Security and Digital Solutions,
ii. revoke the appointment of Kathleen Trott as Deputy Minister of Seniors and Long Term Care,
iii. appoint Jennifer LaPlante as Deputy Minister of Cyber Security and Digital Solutions,
iv. appoint Lora MacEachern, K.C. as Deputy Minister of Seniors and Long Term Care,
v. appoint Kimberly Stewart as Associate Deputy Minister of the Office of Addictions and Mental Health,
vi. designate Jennifer LaPlante and Kimberly Stewart as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act,
vii. direct that Jennifer LaPlante shall receive benefits associated with the position of Deputy Minister as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier,
viii. fix and determine the salary of Jennifer LaPlante to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Deputy Ministers,
ix. direct that Kimberly Stewart shall receive benefits associated with the position of Associate Deputy Minister as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier,
x. fix and determine the salary of Kimberly Stewart to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Associate Deputy Ministers, and
xi. designate Robert Bourgeois as an eligible person for the purposes of the Deputy Minister Pension Arrangement; and
(b) effective August 2, 2025, to:
i. revoke the appointment of Jeannine Lagassé as Deputy Minister of the Executive Council Office and Secretary to the Executive Council and Acting Clerk of the Executive Council, and
ii. appoint Kathleen Trott as Deputy Minister of the Executive Council Office, Secretary to the Executive Council and, whenever the Clerk of the Executive Council is unavailable or otherwise unable to perform the duties of their office, Acting Clerk of the Executive Council.
