The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General dated September 19, 1997, pursuant to Section 3 of Chapter 238 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Provincial Court Act, is pleased to appoint David J. Ryan, Q.C., of North Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, a barrister of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia of at least five years standing, to be a Judge of the Provincial Court for the Judicial District of the Province of Nova Scotia and to determine the salary of the said David J. Ryan, Q.C., to be at the rate recommended from time to time by the tribunal appointed pursuant to Section 21 of the said Provincial Court Act, the said salary to be in full remuneration for day and night sittings of the Provincial Court, effective September 25, 1997.
