$1000 Victory Loan Certificate and Victory Loan coupons. The Halifax Chronicle, 18 June 1941, p. 5, carried an advertisement "Canada holds high the Torch" which also stated, "We have sent thousands of men to defend our civilization. We are training more men in tens of thousands. We have invested eagerly in War Bonds and War Savings Certificates. Our money has built great industries - to turn out planes and ships and munitions of war that cost staggering sums. We have lent our money gladly . . . Help Finish the Job! Buy Victory Bonds."
