Sheet Harbour 7th June 1802

Sir

I have been honoured by your note [of?] the Indians concerning some seed Putotas [Potatoes] after reading and considering the same, I [found -crossed out] was in oppinion with you and doubtful wheather they would plant them or not, I therefore told them to go and get the ground prepared and as soon as I saw it in readiness to plant, I would give them seed
They neither said they would or would not but I am sure they will not, They are very troublsome and distresing to this setelment in the winter time at present they can make out very well in their own way, [mead?] me reserve the Putotas untill I hear from you or a more needfull time unless I see ground prepared to put them in which theer is no Lickly of at present.

I remain Sir
your Very Hu[mb]le Ser[van]t

Peter McCondachie

Michael Wallace Esq[ui]re
