To His Excellency John Parr Esq.re Captain General and Governor in Chief in and over His Majestys Province of Nova Scotia, the Islands of St John of Cape Briton and their Dependencies Vice Admiral of the same etc...etc...etc...

The Memorial of Solomon and Taumaugh Indians of St Margaretts Bay and Philip Bernard Chief of the Tribe
Humbly [Sheweth?]

That your Memorialists were promised by Sir Richard Hughes and Sir Andrew Snape Hammond a tract of Five Hundred Acres of Land at St Margaretts Bay, and that they obtained a License to occupy it, until a Grant could be made out for them, but before that was accomplished the Land was found to be the property of Brook Watson Esq.re and was afterwards sold by his agents at Halifax, in consequence of which they were dispossessed of it, they Therefore Humbly Pray that your Excellency would be pleased to give them a Grant of the same Quantity at the Head of the said Bay --- And as in Duty bound your Memorialists will ever pray -----

Requested by Mi'kmaq Chief Philip Bernard including Warrant to the Chief Surveyor of Lands Charles Morris to measure and lay out 500 acres at St. Margaret's Bay, with Morris' reply, and original memorial from Bernard. Also, a memorial from Solomon Jeremiah, Michael Jeremiah, Joseph Glod and others regarding land upon which to settle.
