I here enclose a copy of your letter respecting the Indian land. I commenced the survey last week, but was obliged to quit owing to the depth of snow, which still continues to increase. I wrote to your last week respecting Goreham Paul and his claims to the lot or block of 1100 acres, and expected an answer this week but did not receive any. Goreham is very anxious to have his house put in order, and would gladly remove to it provided it was habitable, but I left without making any positive arrangement either with respect to the land or house and would like to have your opinion as to the course to pursue. I will resume the survey as soon as the snow gets less.
