Halifax, May 8, 1843.

My dear Sir,
You wrote me some time ago that
Stephen Toney was inclined to build on Merrigomish
Island, if he could get a little aid. Please
supply him with a few pounds worth of such
materials as you think will be most desireable.

Halifax, May 8, 1843.
Dear Sir,
I received your letter of the 28th March, and
am much obliged for your suggestions. If the Indians are
satisfied to take the land when surveyed, Mr Kimble may lay
off a lot for each. I will think of the Fishing Station, but
am doubtful about the propriety of spending £25,
except on a Reserve, or on property the title of which could
be claimed
