I take the liberty of soliciting from you, the favour of a copy of Your Report on Indian Affairs, which I learn has been submitted to the Assembly.
Nothing has been done in Indian Affairs during the past year, in this Province, the Executive having neither means or credit for that or any other special purpose; a comparatively small sum would sufficient for the survey of the extensive Indian Reserves, and render them available, yet so desirable an object could not be affected.
In June last year I visited Prince Edward Island, and during a fortnight's stay, succeeded in making a complete list of all the Micmacs on the Island. The result is this: Men 60, Women 60, Boy's 94; Girls 81, Total 295 souls, while at Lennox Island, the principal Indian Settlement, I had much conversation the heads of the Tribe.
