Le Bluenose, symbole canadien

Cahier de coupures sur le Bluenose

"The Champion Bluenose Fishing Schooner now on her way to Chicago / Bluenose goélette champion, en route vers Chicago." This scrapbook was compiled around the events of May - June 1933, when Bluenose visited Montreal, Toronto, and on to the Century of Progress Exhibition (World's Fair) at Chicago. Additional newspaper clippings date back to 1931, and ahead to 1968 with an obituary for Captain Angus Walters (pp. 6A and 7A); some photographs used in the articles also date from the early 1920s.The scrapbook appears to have been compiled by "Sandy", possibly a crewmember on the Bluenose, and was presented to "James C. Jones" in June 1933. The inscription also includes the notation "Solomon Lodge No. 46, A.F.& A.M.", a reference to the Masonic Lodge in Port Hawkesbury, NS.
