Admiral Digby Museum

Since 1784 there has been a ferry service between Digby, Nova Scotia and Saint John, New Brunswick. This service has been crucial to Digby’s trade, economy, and tourism. Over the years there has been an evolution in the ferry ships. The original paddle wheelers changed to ships powered by propellers which were updated to steam engines, and, finally, diesel engines. Prince Rupert on September 16th, 1909. This ship was in service between 1895 and 1913. It was the first on this service designed to make train connections.
