Wilfred A. Wyman was a soldier during WWI. A native of Yarmouth, Wilfred wrote over 200 letters to his parents about his time in the war. These letters gives us the opportunity to discover what this young man was going through as well as what the affected areas of the war were going through. Sadly, Wilfred was killed in action on December 6th, 1917, when he was resting in a “funk hole” and an enemy shell landed, smashing the hole and killing him instantly. Through his letters we see another of Yarmouth’s brave soldiers on the battlefield.

This letter was written by Wyman about leaving France and being wounded again.
