Tom Connors: 'The Old Sport'

"John McKay was born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, March 15, 1857. He is 5 ft. 8 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds in racing gear. During his six years [sic] career as a Sculler he has beaten in matches many of the leading oarsmen of the country, and has been very successful in open regattas."
