The Halifax Tourist & Convention Bureau and The Halifax Board of Trade's guidebook Welcome to Halifax!, 1937, includes an advertisement for the Nova Scotia Hotel which promoted itself as "The Continental Terminal, where Rail and Ocean meet. The newest and most luxurious hotel on the Canadian Atlantic seaboard. Connected by covered corridors with ocean piers and railway terminal." Nova Scotia Archives Library V/F volume 373 number 9
