Information that the Disaffected French Stir up the Indians

The General acquaind the Board that he was credibly informed that the disaffected french in this Goverment were insinuating Notions to the Indians, very prejudicial to His Majesty's Intereste —
Express sent for the Chiefs of the Indians residing at St. Johns

     Advised & agreed that it would be for His Majesty's servicethat an express sent away imediately to the Cheifs or Heads of the Indians resideing at St Johns river in this His Majesty's Goverment to bring them over here to His Excellency in order to undeceive them, and not wait for the Presents wch are dayly expected from His Majesty [15]

     Orderd That a Vessell be imediately taken up for the service afores'd

Nine of the Indian Chiefs arrive to speak wt the Governor.

     His Excellency acquainted the Board That nine of the Indians Chiefs from the river of S.t Johns were arriued here in the Express that was sent for them, That his Excellency had spoke with them & acquainted them with his reasons for sending for them & at the same time gaue them assurances of his Majesty's friendship & protection, to which they had
