Execution of his place & Trust with Regard to the Equal & Impartial administration of Justice in all Causes which Shall come before the Council took his place at the Board as a Member of His Majestys Council

     Then the Liv t Governor Armstrong Moved to the Board, that as Francis Richards had again humbly applyed to him for his Liberty, to Take his Petition into further Consideration Whereupon the Board desired the Said Richards might be brought before them. Who being accordingly Come, His Deposition was taken of all he knew which being Read, as also Some other papers Relating to his affair, it was Agreed, That the Prayer of his Petition Should be Granted, upon which He was discharg'd, Then Réné Martins Deposition on the Same Subject was taken which being Read to him he afterwards Subscribed [227]

Information from Lit Gov. Drummer of the murder & piracy Committed by the Indians.

     The Honble LivtGovernor of the province acquainted the Board that Livt Governor Dummer had Sent a Schooner Express with a letter advising him of Sevl Hostilitys committed by the Indians of this Province in Murdering Severals of his Majestys Subjects at Lescombs Harbour & Jadore & likewise of an act of Piracy & Robbery Committed by the Indians of Labrador at Port le Basque in Newfoundland as attested by SevI Affidavits also Some proposals to prevent the like Insults for the future by acting in Concert either by force or Otherwise as the Occasion may Require, Read, advised on, & Resolv'd that the Livt Governor be desird to take all proper Measures to find out the Authors of the aforesd Violences & bring them to Justice & That in Case the Indians cannot be
