     Read Father Justinian Durand letter (a Popish Priest of this river) also a letter of the French Inhabitants of this river * * * to His Excellency the General. likewise his Excely read that part of His * * * * Instructions relateing to the French Inhabitants of this Province takeing their Oath to His sacred Majesty King George; and a Copy of the former Oaths & subscription of the French Inhabitants of this Province, to Queen Ann at the time the late Sir Charles Hobby was Liev.t Gov.r of this Garrison. —

     Advised and Order'd
         That His Excellency be desired to send up an Order to the French Inhabitants [6] of this river, to chuse six persons to repcesent the whole body of the Inhabitants, and to act in behalf of the whole, and that the said Order be drawn up by a Committee of Council to be layd before this board at their next sitting. That Paul Mascarene Esq John Harrison Esq, Cyprian Southack Esq and Hibbert Newton Esq be the said committee - in ordr - for his Excellency's approbation signing —
