     At a Council held at the Honourable L.t Governor John Doucett's house in his Majestys Garrison of Annapolis Royall On Wednesday the 13th of November 1723

     The Honourable L.t Governor Acquainted the Board thathe had. Received by M.r James Bline a letter from the Chiefs of the Indians of Marrimishitt, the Bay of Challour, Rechibuctou, Shadowitt, and Shickanecto which was Read, and Containing Several promisees of their peaceable behaviour towards the English and Desireing an Answer

     Resolved that a Civil Letter be sent to Amusse them till farther Instructions from Britain [72]

The Honourable Lieu.t Governor Adminstered to each of members as also to sev.l of the Officers of ye Garrison the Oaths Mentioned in an Act pass'd in the first year of his Majestys Reign Intituled an Act for the further Security his Majestys Person & Government & the Succession of the Crown in the Heirs of the Late Princess Sophia being Protestants & Extinguishing the Hopes of the pretended Prince of Wales & his open & Secret Abetors, also they took & Subscribed the Declaration Mentioned in an Act of Parliament Made in the 25th year of the Reigne of King Charles the Second Intituled An Act for preventing Dangers which may happen from Popish Recusants
 
The memvers of the Council & officers of the Garrision takes the oath of fidelity
