Received by M.^r James Bline a letter from the Chiefs of the Indians of Marrimishitt, the Bay of Challour, Rechibuctou, Shadowitt, and Shickanecto which was Read, and Containing Several promisees of their peaceable behaviour towards the English and Desireing an Answer

The Honourable Lieu^.t Governor Adminstered to each of members as also to sev.^l of the Officers of y^e Garrison the Oaths Mentioned in an Act pass'd in the first year of his Majestys Reign Intituled an Act for the further Security his Majestys Person & Government & the Succession of the Crown in the Heirs of the Late Princess Sophia being Protestants & Extinguishing the Hopes of the pretended Prince of Wales & his open & Secret Abetors, also they took & Subscribed the Declaration Mentioned in an Act of Parliament Made in the 25^th year of the Reigne of King Charles the Second Intituled An Act for preventing Dangers which may happen from Popish Recusants
